Legendary Dallas Cowboys Guard Larry Allen Dies at 52

Former All-Pro Run Blocker and Super Bowl Champion

Allen was known for his incredible strength and athleticism on the field and his off-field struggles with mental illness.

Larry Allen, a Hall of Fame guard who played 14 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and won three Super Bowls, died unexpectedly at age 52, the team announced Saturday.

Allen was a key member of the Cowboys' dominant offensive line in the 1990s and early 2000s, helping pave the way for running backs Emmitt Smith and Troy Aikman to achieve great success.

After his playing career ended, Allen struggled with mental illness and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He was open about his struggles and became an advocate for mental health awareness.

In a statement, the Cowboys said Allen was "a beloved member of our family" and that his "legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched."

Allen's death is a reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and the need to provide support for those who are struggling.
