The Boston Celtics took a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals on Sunday night with a 105-98 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 2. Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 28 points, while Jaylen Brown added 24 points and 7 rebounds. Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 26 points, but he was not able to get enough help from his teammates. The Celtics were able to take control of the game in the second quarter, when they outscored the Mavericks 32-18. The Mavericks were able to cut the lead to 7 points in the third quarter, but the Celtics were able to pull away again in the fourth quarter.

The Celtics were able to win Game 2 despite playing without Robert Williams III, who is out with a knee injury. Al Horford started in Williams' place and had a strong game with 10 points and 14 rebounds. The Celtics also got a boost from Derrick White, who scored 17 points off the bench. The Mavericks were without Maxi Kleber, who is out with a calf injury. Dorian Finney-Smith started in Kleber's place and had a solid game with 14 points and 10 rebounds. The Mavericks also got a boost from Jalen Brunson, who scored 14 points off the bench.

The Celtics will now have a chance to take a 3-0 lead in the series when they host Game 3 on Wednesday night. The Mavericks will need to win Game 3 to avoid falling into a 0-3 hole.
