Womens Super League Club

May 20, 2021

Carla Ward, Aston Villa's manager, has signed a new two-year contract with the Womens Super League club. Ward took over as manager of Aston Villa in the summer after leaving Birmingham Women.

Ward has been praised for her work at Aston Villa, guiding the team to a ninth-place finish in the Womens Super League last season. She has also helped the team reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

Ward's new contract is a sign of Aston Villa's commitment to her and the club's long-term ambitions. The club is hoping to challenge for a top-five finish in the Womens Super League next season and qualify for European competition.

Ward said she was "delighted" to sign a new contract with Aston Villa. She said: "I'm really excited about the future of this club. We have a great squad of players and I believe we can achieve great things together."

Aston Villa CEO Christian Purslow said he was "thrilled" to have secured Ward's services for another two years. He said: "Carla is a fantastic manager and we are delighted that she has committed her future to Aston Villa. She has done a great job in her first season and we are confident that she can lead us to even greater success in the years to come."
